Ankle pain can affect people of all ages and activity levels. There are different types of ankle pain, each with its own set of causes and symptoms which we will go into small detail.

  • Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is a common cause of ankle pain for older individuals in particular. It is a condition that causes inflammation and stiffness in the joints.
    • Symptoms include: pain, joint stiffness
  • Fractures: A fracture in the ankle is a complete break in one or more bones in the ankle
    • Symptoms include severe pain, swelling, and difficulty bearing weight on the affected foot.
